Howell Road Elementary School sixth-graders are putting their brand-new microscopes to good use.
The sixth-graders learned that microscopes and lenses are used to produce an enlarged image of samples placed in the microscope’s focal plane. “They’re a great addition to our science program,” Howell Road science teacher Matthew Stashin said of the new microscopes. “The students are currently using the new microscopes allowing them to take a closer look at what we are discussing in class.”
Stashin added that the microscopes will also be used for an upcoming biology lesson. “We have some slides with cells on them,” he said. “The new microscopes and slides will provide the students with a better picture of our science curriculum.”
