The Board of Education recognized the developing artistic talents of elementary school students throughout the district with a special recognition ceremony during their board meeting.
School principals and art teachers took turns at emceeing duties as they introduced their students one-by-one and asked them to come forward to receive a certificate of honor in front of their families, friends, community members and administrators gathered at the James A Dever Elementary School auditorium.“We honor your children for their outstanding ability in art and we thank you for all that you do to support them,” commented Superintendent of Schools Dr. Adrienne Robb-Fund in her superintendent’s report.
Some of the student artwork will be displayed in the Board of Education lobby at Dever School on a rotating basis. Many were displayed at The New York State Art Teachers Association conference in Rochester, NY earlier this school year. All of the artwork was considered for inclusion in the printed Valley Stream UFSD Thirteen school calendar.
