Dressed in their favorite pajamas, students in grades K-2 at Howell Road Elementary School returned to school, accompanied by their parents, for a night of storytelling, cookies and milk, and crafts.
Much to the students’ delight, several teachers dressed in costume to bring some storybook characters to life, including Little Red Riding Hood, Mrs. Wishy Washy and Fancy Nancy. The students also had the opportunity to visit a craft center, where they made stick puppets of Fancy Nancy, Little Boy Blue and Little Red Riding Hood to take home as a special reminder of the evening.
Parents learned how to use questioning techniques, which the teachers employed while reading the stories, for use at home.
What better way to spend an evening with friends than by wearing cozy pajamas, reading a good book, and enjoying cookies and milk?
