Sixth-grade students at Howell Road Elementary School received a fire-tastic visit from the Elmont Fire Department. Volunteer fire fighters led students through a series of interactive fire-prevention stations including a tour of a real fire truck, smokehouse simulation and how to use a fire truck hose. The students also watched an informative video including fire safety tips.
The visit by the fire fighters from the Elmont Fire Department raised awareness about fire safety and prevention and provided an opportunity for the students to put their newly acquired fire safety skills into action.
