The Howell Road Annual Arbor Day celebration was a beautiful event and one that students and staff look forward to each year. The entire school commemorated this special occasion by planting a Vanderwolf’s Pyramid Pine in the Howell schoolyard. In addition to the pine tree, colorful perennials were also planted in the reading garden. The Howell Road PTA generously donated all of the plantings.
The Arbor Day outdoor assembly included the Howell Road color guard and members of the student council. Principal Frank Huplosky emphasized the importance of Arbor Day and how it is everyone’s responsibility to take care of the earth. Poems were read and songs were sung. Several members of the Board of Education also joined the celebration. The day was full of sunshine and hope for an even brighter future.
