In anticipation of the 100th day of school, classes at James A. Dever School tracked each school day beginning with day one. On February 12th, 2016, the school celebrated the 100th day of school. In recognition of this special day, the students displayed projects and participated in special activities focused on the number 100. Kindergarten students could be heard throughout the halls singing their 100th Day song. In preparation for the 100th day of school, students practiced counting by ones, fives and tens. They also used their math skills in a variety of activities including collecting, sorting, and counting 100 items. As a culminating activity the students gathered together to celebrate this memorable day. Special placemats and colorful hats were made especially for this exciting event. First-grade students presented creative projects to their peers, all which pertained to the number 100. Students demonstrated their knowledge of math by designing poster boards with 100 objects, ranging from pennies to stickers. These projects were displayed in the hallways for all the other students to enjoy. Second grade students worked in groups to complete challenging 100 piece puzzles as their special activity. The 100th Day celebration was truly a fabulous day enjoyed by many of Dever's wonderful students.
