On Monday, February 11, The Improvised Shakespeare Company of Chicago visited Howell Road School to conduct a special workshop with the Drama Club, coordinated by Mr. Rodgers, the Drama Club director. The Improvised Shakespeare Company specializes in creating completely improvised scenes based on the language and characters of William Shakespeare's plays and performs using simple suggestions from the audience.
During the workshop, the students were excited to learn new theatrical techniques, acting exercises, and performance activities. They also had the unique opportunity of learning how they could create stories and scenarios using the language from Shakespeare's time. We were delighted to be joined by several parents and Dr. Adrienne Robb-Fund during this wonderful activity. The Improvised Shakespeare Company was an excellent experience for the students who were inspired to expand their interest in the performing arts.
