During the celebration of American Education Week at Willow Road School, parents were invited to attend classes and observe the varied educational programs and the impressive accomplishments of students.
In classrooms throughout the school, activities focused on the traditions of Thanksgiving and discussions about the first settlers to America. Students celebrated by singing songs and reading poetry.
In the first grade, children brought the book "T is for Turkey" by Tanya Lee to life with an amazing performance. While in the library, principal Mrs. Capozzoli engaged the second graders by reading the book "All The Way To America" by Dan Yaccarino. Everyone enjoyed a very interesting discussion about family names and traditions, where their ancestors were born and how they came to live in America.
